Sara was born and raised in Anchorage. She grew up playing in the Chugach mountains.before moving to New York to pursue her undergraduate degree at Colgate University. Fortunately, she found her way back to Alaska and completed her Bachelor of Science in Geology at University of Alaska Fairbanks. Sara is happy to back in her hometown, where she can simultaneously pursue both her love for the community and the mountains.
Prior to joining DDA, Sara worked in the private sector for an environmental engineering firm before discovering her passion for policy work in the Alaska State Legislature as a Legislative Aide. During her years in Juneau, she was responsible for the successful passage of multiple pieces of legislation, and especially enjoyed the public outreach component of her job. As an associate at DDA, Sara brings a great deal of experience generating consensus on complex issues and working to implement cooperative initiatives. As a certified Technology of Participation (TOPs) facilitator, Sara has embraced DDA's tried and true methods for successful strategic planning, and she has proven especially adept at working with firms and agencies on follow-through and goal realization.
